Unable to create a new appliance after updating the Studio Onsite server

This document (7016231) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

SUSE Studio Onsite 1.3
Updates applied after mid February 2015

In Studio Onsite web interface select to create a new appliance, select any options and click "Create appliance" button.

A 500 error will be displayed and at the top of the screen the following is displayed in red text:

Software Failure. Press left mouse button to continue

undefined method `base_system' for nil:NilClass

Edit the file /srv/studio/ui-server/config/options.yml

Find the first instance of this line (about line# 601):

default_template: "SLES 12, Just enough OS (JeOS)"

Change this line to:

default_template: "SLES 11 SP3, Just enough OS (JeOS)"

Save your changes and then restart apache with this command:

rcapache2 restart

After apache is restarted open your browser and go to the web interface for Studio and create a new appliance to verify it is fixed.

Updates caused a duplicate entry for the default_template for SLES 12.
