Redeploying barclamps may fail

This document (7015084) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE OpenStack Cloud 4
SUSE OpenStack Cloud 5

Situation

Redeploying barclamps may fail for some race condition, shortly after node discovery. Two workers try to store data while one set of information may be lost during this discovery and consequently not all roles apply as desired.
The issue has been observed when applying the nova barclamp after updating to High Availability (HA) and is being worked on. Fix is supposed to follow.

Resolution

Until there's a fix, the following workaround allows to deploy the roles:
  1. In the nodes dashboard, select + display the node.
  2. Click 'Forget' and confirm removing from the database.
  3. Re-allocate the node.
