SUSE Manager webinterface shows internal server error after applying online updates

Environment

SUSE Manager 1.7
PostgreSQL database

Situation

After applying SUSE Manager patch 8394 (https://download.novell.com/Download?buildid=ROPvtIYA_tQ~) on a SUSE Manager running with PostgreSQL database the webinterface shows an internal server error, in /var/log/tomcat6/catalina.out the following error can be seen:
2013-10-29 11:18:19,436 [TP-Processor3] ERROR org.hibernate.util.JDBCExceptionReporter - ERROR: column userinfo0_.csv_separator does not exist
  Position: 394

Resolution

Please apply the database schema update as follows:
  1. spacewalk-service stop
  2. spacewalk-schema-upgrade
  3. spacewalk-service start

Cause

The database schema has not been updated to the latest version that is required with this patch release.
