Studio Onsite Test Drive fails with error "Failed to find MBR identifier"

This document (7011314) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

SUSE Studio Onsite 1.2
Appliance built: SLES or SLED 11 SP2

Built a SLES or SLED 11 SP2 appliance and tried to run the Test Drive.  Boot process stopped with an error "Failed to find MBR identifier!"

1) Edit /srv/studio/options.yml and add the following under "default:".

  # Note: Reboot or run "rcmemcached restart" and "rcapache2 restart" as root after
  # making changes here!
    'SLES11_SP2': &repo_priority_sles11_sp2
      - 'SLE 11 SP2 SDK i386'
      - 'SLE 11 SP2 SDK x86_64'
      - 'SLE 11 SP2 SDK s390x'
      - 'SLE 11 SP2 SDK Updates i386'
      - 'SLE 11 SP2 SDK Updates x86_64'
      - 'SLE 11 SP2 SDK Updates s390x'
      - 'SLE 11 SP1 SDK i386'
      - 'SLE 11 SP1 SDK x86_64'
      - 'SLE 11 SP1 SDK s390x'
      - 'SLE 11 SP1 SDK Updates i386'
      - 'SLE 11 SP1 SDK Updates x86_64'
      - 'SLE 11 SP1 SDK Updates s390x'
      - '11.2u1-SLE11-SDK-SP1-Updates'
      - '11.2u1-SLE11-SDK-SP2-Updates'
      - '11.2u1-SLE11-SDK-SP1-Pool'
      - '11.2u1-SLE11-SDK-SP2-Core'

2) Restart memcached and apache by running the following commands as root (or reboot):

   rcmemcached restart
   rcapache2 restart

3) Rebuild the appliance and try again.

Note:  If you are using a SMT server for the Studio repositories make sure the repository names indicated above match the actual repository names provided by the SMT server.

This is a result of an older version of libstdc++ being installed from the SDK repository.  The build is not placing the SDK at a lower priority than the core and update repositories and in this case an older package is being installed.
