This document (3802440) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10

Situation

This document is intended to identify a method of changing the time of day when the beagle-indexer is executed (when it begins indexing).

Resolution

  1. Start YaST.
  2. Click on "System".
  3. Click on "/etc/sysconfig Editor".
  4. Expand "System".
  5. Expand "Cron".
  6. Click on "DAILY_TIME"
  7. Change this to the time of the day you wish it to run, for example, "8:00".
SUSE Linux will restart the cron daemon after updating the contents of the crontab (or the daily files).

Additional Information

This will also alter the time that any of the daily cron jobs are started.
