NTLDR error during XEN install of Windows 2003 server

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10
Windows 2003 server

Situation

The install of a Windows 2003 server fails after the initial file copy completes and the virtual machine (XEN) reboots.
Error:  NTLDR is missing Press Ctrl-Alt-Del to restart

Resolution

Leave the Virtual CPU setting at 1.  Multiple CPUs are not supported on fully virtualized guests in SLES 10 SP1.

Fixed in SLES 10 SP2 and later.

Additional Information

A request has been submitted to disable the ability to select more than one CPU during a fully virtualized machine install until multiple CPUs are supported.
