Does Rancher have a mechanism to lock accounts after failed login attempts

This document (000021711) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Resolution

Rancher does not natively support account lockout mechanisms for failed login attempts. However, Rancher allows integration with external Identity Providers (IdPs) such as Active Directory, LDAP, or SAML-based providers. These external systems often include account lockout policies as part of their security features. Therefore, organizations using Rancher can enforce account lockout policies by configuring their external IdP accordingly, even though this feature is not built into Rancher itself.
