xrdp fails to start due to failures in xrdp_mcs_recv and xrdp_process_loop

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 SP4 LTSS
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications 12 SP4

Situation

On SLES12 SP4 LTSS xrdp connections fail with the following error:

Affected version is xrdp 0.9.0~git.1456906198.f422461-21.30.2 previous versions are not impacted.

Resolution

Upgrade xrdp to version 0.9.0~git.1456906198.f422461-21.33.1.x86_64

Cause

A bug was introduced with CVE-2022-23482 patch and it has been fixed in version 0.9.0~git.1456906198.f422461-21.33.1.x86_64
