Endpont Protection Software blocks repository synchronisation

SUSE Manager 4.3

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP4

Situation

The command spacewalk-repo-sync fails to download some packages:

Creating a manually a file under '/var/spacewalk/packages/NULL/stage' works fine:

sudo -u wwwrun mkdir /var/spacewalk/packages/NULL/stage/b127efeb43f0bd1e73b86284f18b1768d1d2f89478a2a7fa3e9bf9d5610ada7d/
sudo -u wwwrun cp <example_file> /var/spacewalk/packages/NULL/stage/b127efeb43f0bd1e73b86284f18b1768d1d2f89478a2a7fa3e9bf9d5610ada7d/

Testing to download the package via zypper fails with same reason.

zypper update --download-only kernel-default=5.14.21-150400.24.55.3

Resolution

Temporarily disable the Endpoint Protection Software and rerun repository synchronization.

Cause

The Endpoint Protection Software blocked access with error message 'Operation not permitted'.
