After update login to the webui fails: HTTP Status 404 - Not Found

Environment

SUSE Manager Server 4.3
SUSE Manager Server 4.2

Situation

After applying updates to the server, access to the web user interface (webui) fails with:
 
HTTP Status 404 - Not Found

Additionally, the following error message can be seen in the "/var/log/rhn/rhn_web_ui.log" file:
 
2023-03-15 09:37:33,495 [Catalina-utility-2] ERROR com.redhat.rhn.common.conf.Config - Could not parse file /etc/rhn/rhn.conf
java.io.IOException: File '/etc/rhn/rhn.conf' cannot be read

Resolution

Use "chown" and / or "chmod" to properly set the permissions to the "/etc/rhn/rhn.conf" file.

Cause

The file permissions for the "/etc/rhn/rhn.conf" file is not set properly / incorrect.

Additional Information

An  example of proper file permissions:
 
:~ # ls -l /etc/rhn/rhn.conf
-rw-r----- 1 root www 2819 Nov  8 14:00 /etc/rhn/rhn.conf

An example where there was a problem with the group membership resulting in the above mentioned error:
 
:~ # ls -l /etc/rhn/rhn.conf
-rw-r----- 1 root 477877884 2861 Mar 13 16:29 /etc/rhn/rhn.conf
