On SUSE Manager Proxy, mgr-bootstrap reports that the file /usr/share/rhn/config-defaults/rhn_server.conf can't be found

This document (000020905) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE Manager Proxy 4.0
SUSE Manager Proxy 4.1
SUSE Manager Proxy 4.2
SUSE Manager Proxy 4.3

Situation

When running the command mgr-bootstrap on SUSE Manager Proxy, the following errors are reported.

CONFIG PARSE WARNING: File not found or can't be read /usr/share/rhn/config-defaults/rhn_server.conf
CONFIG PARSE WARNING: key not found in config default dict ('server',)

The command completes successfully apart from these messages.

Resolution

This is primarily a cosmetic issue. Functionality is not impacted, and no action is required to continue using the product.

Optionally, to prevent the messages from showing up, copy the file /usr/share/rhn/config-defaults/rhn_server.conf from the SUSE Manager Server to the same location on the SUSE Manager Proxy.

Cause

The file indicated is not present on SUSE Manager Proxy, but the mgr-bootstrap tool carries over code intended for SUSE Manager Server that references this file and produces a warning if it can't be found.

Status
