SUSE Manager 4.3

When running an advanced search for systems via the web user interface (ui) some systems are simply not found, without any specific errors being seen / logged. The systems are also not found when performing a search from the command line with:
spacecmd system_search hostname:<insert_system_name>

Run as root the following command:
rhn-search cleanindex

The problem is due to an inconsistent search index.
