Dependency issue: nothing provides 'postgresql-llvmjit-implementation'

This document (000020774) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP4

Situation

When trying to patch with the unapplied update postgresql14-llvmjit-14.3-150200.5.12.2:

 zypper patch

An unresolved dependency is shown:

Problem: nothing provides 'postgresql-llvmjit-implementation' needed by
the to be installed postgresql-llvmjit-14-150400.4.3.88.noarch

Resolution

As a workaround to get a consistent installation with PostgtreSQL 14, the customers can uninstall or deselect all packages that have llvmjit in their name. That will only remove an optional performance optimization that won't be available for PostgreSQL 14 anyway until we have released the postgresql14-llvmjit package.

Engineering is aware of the issue.

Cause

Due to reorganization of the packages there is no package postgresql-llvmjit-implementation but still the dependency.
