Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availbility Extension 15 SP4

Situation

When upgrading from SLES15 SP0 , SLES15 SP1 , SLES15 SP2 or SLES15 SP3 to SLES15 SP4 version the drbd resource will stop handling Resource-Level Fencing with STONITH .

The drbd resource is defined. From supportconfig ha.txt:
# /usr/sbin/crm configure show
...
primitive drbd_demo01 ocf:linbit:drbd \
    params drbd_resource=demo01 \
    op monitor interval=15 role=Master \
    op monitor interval=30 role=Slave
primitive stonith-sbd stonith:external/sbd \
    params pcmk_delay_max=30s

From supportconfig drbd.txt, we see the paths used for the fencing scripts:
# /sbin/drbdadm dump
...
# defined at /etc/drbd.d/demo01.res:1
resource demo01 {
...
    handlers {
        fence-peer       /lib/drbd/crm-fence-peer.9.sh;
        after-resync-target /lib/drbd/crm-unfence-peer.9.sh;
    }
}

Resolution

Update to latest drbd-utils version .
Fixed version is 9.19.0-150400.2.3.1 and later.

Cause

The SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availbility Extension 15 SP4 was released with drbd-utils version 9.19.0-150400.1.7 and the patch to conform to the location of the crm-fence-peer.9.sh , crm-fence-peer.sh, crm-unfence-peer.9.sh and crm-unfence-peer.sh scripts to /usr/lib/drbd/ got dropped by chance. The path /lib/drbd/ should have been changed to /usr/lib/drbd/.
