Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 Service Pack 3 (SLES 12 SP4)
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 Service Pack 3 (SLES 12 SP3)


Situation

sudo sesearch --neverallow
sudo sesearch --all
Results in the following:
ERROR: Cannot get avrules: Neverallow rules requested but not available
The default SELinux configuration was applied
sudo sestatus
SELinux status:                 enabled
SELinuxfs mount:                /sys/fs/selinux
SELinux root directory:         /etc/selinux
Loaded policy name:             minimum
Current mode:                   permissive
Mode from config file:          permissive
Policy MLS status:              enabled
Policy deny_unknown status:     allowed
Max kernel policy version:      30

Resolution

Working as expected.

Cause

The binary SELinux policy that ships with SUSE does not contain any neverallow rules, as they are removed upon compile time. This message can be ignored.
