Semi automatic autoyast disk partitioning fails

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 Service Pack 4 (SLES 12 SP4)


When installing SLES12 SP4 using an AutoYaST control file with semi-automatic partitioning option, the dialog allows you to edit the partition settings, but when you click OK, the error "Error while configuring partitions.  Try again" appears. The AutoYaST installation fails at that point.

The AutoYaST control file contains the following:

A driver update disk (DUD) file is available to resolve the issue. Please contact support for the DUD.
