Re-running DeepSea Salt stages overwrites any existing lrbd configuration

Environment

SUSE Enterprise Storage 5

Situation

After configuring the iSCSI Gateway (lrbd) re-running DeepSea stages to make additional changes to the cluster results in any existing customized lrbd configuration to be overwritten with the default demo configuration included with DeepSea.

Resolution

Disable the default DeepSea iSCSI import.

Cause

Currently by default DeepSea will each time it is run check the existing iSCSI configuration against the included basic demo configuration and overwrite any existing or modified configuration.

Additional Information

To disable the default iSCSI import take the following steps:

1. Create the file: /srv/salt/ceph/igw/import/disabled.sls
2. Edit the file and add the following two lines:

disabled import:
  test.nop


3. Add the following line to the "/srv/pillar/ceph/stack/global.yml" file:

igw_import: disabled

4. Re-run DeepSea stage two to reconfigure Salt: salt-run state.orch ceph.stage.2
