LVM commands causes node panic on Power PC

This document (7017098) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 4 (SLES 11 SP4)

Situation

HAE cluster setup with dlm/clvm.  After installation LVM commands will cause the server to panic in dlm's _request_lock routine.

Resolution

We found that specifying the nodeID on the etc/corosync/corosync.conf file prevents the problem from happening, however it is more desirable to have a generic corosync.conf.  Changing the "clear_node_high_bit: new" (by default) to "clear_node_high_bit: yes" in /etc/corosync/corosync.conf does resolve the issue without specifying the nodeID
