smt-ncc-scc-migration: "duplicate entry '' for key 'PRIMARY'"

This document (7016481) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP3

Situation

Systems still registered to the Novell Customer Center (NCC) can be migrated to the SUSE Customer Center (SCC) as outlined at:
SUSE Customer Center (SCC) enablement for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11

During the migration from the NCC (Novell Customer Center) to the SCC (SUSE Customer Center) the following messages are displayed or can be seen in the logs:

DBD::mysql::db do failed: Duplicate entry '100657-203' for key 'PRIMARY' at
/usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.10.0/SMT/SCCSync.pm line 1020.
DBD::mysql::db do failed: Duplicate entry '100657-203' for key 'PRIMARY' at
/usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.10.0/SMT/SCCSync.pm line 1020.

Resolution

The smt update, smt-2.0.12-0.7.1 released end of May 2015 includes the patch to resolve the problem.

Cause

During the migration the old NCC (Novell Customer Center) ID's might conflict with the new SCC (SUSE Customer Center) ID's. A patch will induce to setup the table anew each time so that the NCC entries can be removed.
