Midnight Commander does not open zip archives and list files

Environment


SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 2
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 3

Situation

Midnight Commander (mc), a program to manage files and directories does not open zip files/ archives.
Opening the Midnight Commander "mc" in a terminal and selecting an example.zip archive and press enter will come up empty.
 

Resolution

As workaround open the file /usr/share/mc/extfs/uzip and change the 0 in "my $op_has_zipinfo = 0" to 1.

Customers affected by this issue can alternatively contact SUSE Technical Services to request a PTF.
