gettimeofday is showing latencies

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 Service Pack 3

Situation

Customer reported seeing higher than usual latency numbers on DL580 g7 and Cisco M460
24x servers running SLES10 SP3. On older DL580 g5 hardware, they didn't
experience these higher latencies.

Customer used get time of day ( gettimeofday ) for their testing.

Resolution

Use the boot parameter "ignore_tsc_cluster_check"
