SMB Installation Source Error: Unable to create installation source

When attempting to add an SMB Installation Source (Yast -> Installation Source -> SMB/CIFS) with credentials, the following error is returned:


The problem is that even though credentials are supplied, anonymous credentials are what get passed to the SMB server. If anonymous is disallowed or insufficient, then the Permission denied error is returned. The issue has been reported to engineering as bug# 560496.
