SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 Service Pack 3

During an upgrade of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 Service Pack 2 (SLES10-SP2) to Service Pack 3 (SLES10-SP3) a patch dependency error is displayed:

There are no installable providers of SPident == 0.9-74.23 for patch slesp2o-sp2_online-5018-0.noarch

Prior to the upgrade to SLES10-SP3 make sure that the system is on the latest patch level. At least the latest SPident patch has to be installed, which can be downloaded at The version number should be 0.9-74.23 or greater.

Additional Information

On a SLES10-SP2 system the above SPident patch does not change any files. The patch is just necessary in order to have the patch-object installed to avoid the issue described above during the migration from SP2 to SP3.
