PPPoE discovery packets sent out passive interface

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 Service Pack 2

Situation

Set up Bonding with mode 1 (Active/Passive) selected and slave two interfaces.
The currently active interface connected to one switch and the passive interface connected to another switch.
load hwinfo

Expected condition:
The switch that is connected to the active interface should see PPPoE Active discovery packets (PADI) and the switch connected to the passive interface should not.

Actual condition:
PPPoE discovery packets are seen out both interfaces.

Resolution

Reported to engineering.
