Return Codes of YaST Online Update command line tool

You want to use the command-line toolonline-updatein a script to automate the online update process.
For this you need the return code of the command line tool. (online_update)


The return code is depending on which option you will use.

Check for new updates:

# online_update --check

-1 ERROR(Media:login failed)
-1 ERROR(Media:connection failed)
0 No updates available
1 Updates available
2 Security updates available.

Quick Check for new updates:
(did not check the update type like security, recommended, etc):

# online_update --quick-check

0 No new updates available
1 new updates available
-1 Unable to check for updates

General online update:

# online_update

0 Update successful
-1 ERROR(Media:connection failed)
-1 ERROR(Media:login failed)
-1 ERROR(You:RPM has invalid signature.)

Please note that for some undefined errors the return code255 will be used.
