YaST Partioner does not mount new partitions with the specified fstab-options

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10
SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10


Situation

After you created a new partition using

Yast -> System -> Partitioner -> Create -> Fstab Options

and set filesystem options, that should be used for this partition, those are written to /etc/fstab but not used unless a remount or reboot of the system.
After the reboot the options you set are used in a correct way.

Resolution

After you finished the partitioning and left YaST invoke a
mount -o remount
e.g. mount -o remount /dev/sda6

Now the file system options are used in the way you specified it.

Background:
YaST itself is not able to track all the various mount options for each file system at the moment and
just writes the information into /etc/fstab.
The remount option rereads /etc/fstab and sets the mount option in the way you specified.
