Signature verfication fails on clients connecting to local YOU server

When a local client connects to a local YOU server, the client sees
ERR: Signature check for patch info files failed. Cannot load patch information.


If the server is able to update, but the client fails, this may be caused by an incorrect URL in the YOU configuration. For Novell Accounts, the correct download location is

Take the following steps:
  1. Delete /var/lib/YaST2
  2. Check YaST ->Online Update. Make sure that the location is
  3. Rerun YaST Online Update, with "Reload All Patches from Server" checked
