Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 Service Pack 2 (SLES 12 SP2)

Situation

Anything on z196/z114 systems using the libica library will crash with an illegal instruction. Everyone intending to upgrade to SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 Service Pack 2 will need the patch.

Resolution

The libica2 update to libica2-2.6.2-22.1 released February 2017 includes the patch to resolve this problem.
Please use the recommended package available in the SUSE Linux Enterprise Software Development Kit repository.

Cause

The internal asm code does not correctly parse the type of machine it is running on. A patch fixes the msa level detection.
