SUSE Manager clients have seen slowness during patching.

This document (7014341) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

SUSE Manager 1.7

From SUSE Manager documentation:

"If zypper up or the push capability of SUSE Manager ceases to function, old log files might be the reason for this. Stop the jabberd daemon before removing these files. To do so, issue the following commands as root:"

In this situation the upgrade from SLES 11SP2 to SLES 11SP3 was not running simultaneously.  In fact it would upgrade only one client at a time. Roughly each service pack migration took 10 hours per client.

rcosa-dispatcher stop
rcjabberd stop
cd /var/lib/jabberd/db
rm *
rcjabberd start
rcosa-dispatcher start

Old log files are causing the service to slow down.
