YaST2 backup module fails to create archive

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 2
SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 11 Service Pack 2
 

Situation

After patching yast2-backup to version 2.17.13-0.5.1 backup jobs fail to complete successful. In /var/log/YaST2/y2log the following perl error is spotted:

2013-02-18 15:28:41 <1> sles11sm(4113) [YCP] backup/ui.ycp:2900 DEBUG: buffer empty: true
2013-02-18 15:28:41 <3> sles11sm(4113) [YCP] backup/ui.ycp:2905 DEBUG: stderr: Undefined subroutine &main::make_path called at /usr/lib/YaST2/bin/backup_archive.pl line 81.


Running /usr/lib/YaST2/bin/backup_archive.pl in a shell fails with:

sles11sm:~ # /usr/lib/YaST2/bin/backup_archive.pl
"make_path" is not exported by the File::Path module
Can't continue after import errors at /usr/lib/YaST2/bin/backup_archive.pl line 25
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/lib/YaST2/bin/backup_archive.pl line 25.

 

Resolution

If this issue is experienced, please contact Technical Services for a program temporary fix (PTF) until a maintenance is available.
