Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Point of Service Service Pack 2

Situation

With posInitAdminserver it is possible to initialize the Adminserver

The option ----reinitialize together with --noninteractive performs an unattended installation.

The following command will reconfigure the LDAP directory schema and the initial records for OpenLDAP  based on the already created  /etc/SLEPO/adminserver.conf file:

# posInitAdminserver ----reinitialize --noninteractive

It is also possible to initialize it based on a provided configuration file.

# posInitAdminserver ----reinitialize=config.conf --noninteractive

The file config.conf should have include the following lines:

1. ALL_LDAPHOST (URI of LDAP server)
Depending if the communication is over SSL or not, the host type should be ldaps:// for SSL or ldap:// for non SSL.

Example:
ALL_LDAPHOST=ldap://admin.mycorp.us

2. ALL_LDAPBASE (LDAP server suffix)
Specify the organization/company name and the two-letter code for the contry.

Example:
ALL_LDAPBASE="o=mycorp,c=us"

3. POS_ADMIN_DN (LDAP server admin user)
Specify the LDAP admin user.

Example:
POS_ADMIN_DN="cn=admin,o=mycorp,c=us"

4. POS_ADMIN_PASSWORD (LDAP password)
It is important that the password must be a clear-text password  and it must be alphanumeric.

Example:
POS_ADMIN_PASSWORD="secret"
