Environment

Novell Subscription Management Tool 1.0
Novell Subscription Management Tool 1.1
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 Service Pack 2

Situation

When synchronizing the product registration and subscription (smt-ncc-sync) data with the Novell Customer Center (NCC), the Subscription Management Tool (SMT) servers will flag all Novell update repositories as "not mirrorable".
This means that SMT servers, which have performed an ncc-sync and had the repositories flagged not mirrorable, will not be able to mirror updates until the issue is resolved.
Once it has been resolved, the command
# smt-ncc-sync
needs to be performed before mirroring can be resumed.

Resolution

The problem has now been resolved. It was caused by a problem in an authentication device in the Novell Customer Center.

SMT servers, that have had their repositories set not mirrorable, will automatically recover during its next daily SMT job.
This - amongst others - executes the command
# smt-ncc-sync
which can also be invoked manually to force an immediate synchronization.
After this the mirroring will work again (smt-smt-mirror) and there is no need to re-enable the repositories for mirroring.
