SUSE Cloud Application Platform: Announcing version 1.5

SUSE Cloud Application Platform is a modern application delivery platform that enables cloud native productivity at scale with proven DevOps automation for Kubernetes--the de facto standard for enterprise container orchestration. SUSE Cloud Application platform eliminates manual IT configuration and helps accelerate application delivery by getting applications to market faster. Developers can serve themselves and get apps to the cloud in minutes instead of weeks. Streamlining application delivery opens a clear path to increased business agility, led by enterprise development, operations, and DevOps teams.

SUSE Cloud Application Platform increases business agility by helping enterprises to:

  • Boost developer productivity with easy one step deployment of cloud native applications using the language and framework most appropriate for the task.
  • Manage application delivery at scale with governance and control over multi-cloud, multi-cluster, and multi-tenant environments.
  • Increase efficiency with a platform that is easy to install, fault tolerant, and centrally managed.

Product Information

SUSE Cloud Application Platform 1.5 includes updates to the Cloud Foundry Application Runtime (CFAR) and new user interface enhancements to reduce application and platform management complexity. It also increases IT efficiency by providing a faster time to value with a simple and more predictable installation experience on hosted Kubernetes services.

Users of SUSE Cloud Application Platform 1.5 will enjoy these new benefits:

  • Reduced complexity for operators, developers, and devops team members alike with new user interface enhancements that let users quickly deploy applications with a single click, automatically scale applications up or down based on set parameters, and easily monitor and manage resource usage all from a single UI.
  • Instant application discovery and deployment. Users can browse any Helm chart repository including embedded documentation, set required deployment values directly in the UI, and deploy applications to Kubernetes with a single click.
  • Application autoscaling. Developers and administrators can quickly verify and adjust autoscaling parameters to ensure consistent application availability directly from the Stratos UI. The system will automatically scale applications up and down, using the least amount of resources possible, based on memory or CPU usage, application response time, or network throughput.
  • User and organizational quotas. Platform operators and end-users can monitor and allocate resource usage more effectively directly in the UI.
  • IT operations staff can now deploy SUSE Cloud Application Platform to Amazon EKS, Azure AKS, and Google GKE via Terraform scripts, for a simple, predictable, and repeatable experience.
