Release Notes for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications 11 Service Pack 4 (SP4)

These release notes are generic for all SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications 11 based products. Some parts may not apply to particular architectures or products. Where this is not obvious, the respective architectures are listed explicitly.

3 New Features

3.1 Update of clamsap / NW-VSI 2.0 Package

The clamsap package has been upgraded to support the latest version of NW-VSI (2.0).

3.2 Support for IBM Power Systems

The product has been made available for IBM Power Systems.

3.3 SAP HANA Firewall

The SAP HANA Firewall package has been included into the product. It allows an easy configuration of the SUSE Firewall for SAP HANA installations.

3.4 Default Install of GCC 4.8 Runtime

When installing the product from scratch, the GCC 4.8 runtime is installed automatically. It is required to run SAP HANA starting with SPS08.

3.5 Support New SAP CD Metadata Format

The product now supports the new SAP CD metadata format, which allows you to use the integrated installation wizard with the latest SAP media files.
