SPFS - a filesystem for Spectrum Protect
Mount your Spectrum Protect filespace anywhere on your server. Browse your backups with ls or dir command. This filesystem support WORM (Write Once Read Many); once you have copied a file, it can't be changed, or removed. Removal can be granted by backup administrator. To enhance security more, the content can be encrypted using private encryption keys. Features included in the product: . encryption: all, or selective part of the content locations . data reduciton: using advanced de-duplication and compression techniques . filtering: refuse certain data types . versioning: if a file with the same name is copied over an already existing file with the same name, than there will be two (2) different versions of the same name in the filesystem, where the older version of the file will be presented with a relative version number of (-1) meaning 1 version older than last version. . retention: content can be controlled using retention policy set by the Spectrum Protect Server. Limit number of versions, or age of files and objects . mount filesystem as archive or backup . data redundancy: make extra copies of your data using node replication, or similar
