Config Notes
- Install: The SUSE® Linux Enterprise Server install was performed using a network install method.
- Headless configuration - no graphics adapter. System configured using IBM remote Hardware Management Console (HMC) for graphics, keyboard and mouse.
- Kdump: the crash kernel reserved memory parameters were changed based on the content in the following knowledge-base article for ppc64le: https://www.suse.com/support/kb/doc.php?id=3374462
- Power management: The System/Processor dynamic CPU frequency scaling functionality in SLES is not supported on Power11 (PowerVM) as this functionality is provided by the Power11 hardware itself.
- CPU: This system is a 4U Rack unit configuration with 4 CPU sockets. The Power11 3.00--4.10 GHz CPUs tested each have 30 cores (DCM) and with SMT8. Totaling for the system 120 cores or 960 vCPU threads.
