With Intel Xeon E5-2600 v2 processors, the x240 Compute Node is an efficient server that is designed to run a broad range of workloads, armed with advanced management capabilities that allow you to manage your physical and virtual IT resources from a single pane of glass. Suggested uses: Database, virtualization, enterprise applications, collaboration and email, streaming media, web, HPC, Microsoft RemoteFX, and cloud applications.

Config Notes
- Install: System installed via network PXE UEFI boot; the OS was installed using the UEFI boot loader and system configuration. Hard disk configuration: RAID 0.
- Serial/USB/VGA port(s): provided through KVM connector console breakout cable which supplies one RS232 serial port, one VGA port and two USB ports.
- Kdump (SLE12SP2): the crash kernel reserved memory parameters were increased from the default to crashkernel=144M,high crashkernel=112M,low using YaST.
- VM Driver Pack: All guests were tested with PV drivers installed. The SLES drivers are included with the OS. The Windows Server 2016 drivers are available from http://download.suse.com (VMDP-WIN-2.4.exe).
- PCI Network Pass-Through: System was tested using PCI pass-through where one of the host network adapters was given to the SLES 12 FV guest. One of the embedded Lenovo CN4052 10Gb Virtual Fabric adapters was used during this testing.
