Product Description
The Fujitsu PRIMERGY RX500 S7 not only provides the next generation Intel® Xeon® processor E5-4600 product family with integration of the PCI Express bus and next generation Intel QPI interconnect to boost performance as well as energy efficiency. Moreover, the RX500 S7 enables new economic scale-up from 2 to 4 socket server computing by leveraging the price performance efficiency of 2 socket servers into the 4 socket performance class. Starting with a 2 processor configuration, this 4u rack server can easily scale-up to 4 processors and double its memory up to 1536GB RAM inside the same 4U rack chassis without changing the server and rack infrastructure. Its energy conscious design and usage of low voltage memory pays dividends in superior performance per Watt and higher expandability than with 2 socket server standards. Config Notes
- Install: SLES OS installation was performed by using a virtual DVD device.
- The driver "i40e" that was used during testing is SUSE SolidDriver Program compliant. The driver was installed from "intel-i40e-2.1.26-20.1.x86_64.rpm" and "intel-i40e-kmp-default-2.1.26_k4.4.21_69-20.1.x86_64.rpm". To obtain the driver package, access to https://sso.hds.com and click on "Support Connect", then select "Product Downloads". RPM can be used to install SUSE Linux Enterprise Server(SLES) to the SAN storage, and driver package can be installed after the SLES installation.
- The driver "megaraid_sas" that was used during testing is SUSE SolidDriver Program compliant. The driver was installed from "lsi-megaraid_sas-kmp-default-07.704.04.00_k4.4.21_69-6.1.x86_64.rpm". To obtain the driver package, access to https://sso.hds.com and click on "Support Connect", then select "Product Downloads". RPM can be used to install SUSE Linux Enterprise Server(SLES) to the SAN storage, and driver package can be installed after the SLES installation.
- All ports of Intel XXV710-DA2 Ethernet Network Adapters were tested at 25Gb/s speed.
