Product Description
The Cisco UCS C240 M3 Rack Server is designed for both performance and expandability over a wide range of storage-intensive infrastructure workloads ranging from big data to collaboration.
The enterprise-class Cisco UCS C240 M3 further extends the capabilities of the Cisco Unified Computing System portfolio in a 2-rack-unit (2 RU) form factor. And the addition of the Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2600 and E5-2600 v2 processor product families delivers an optimal combination of performance, flexibility, and efficiency gains.
The Cisco UCS C240 M3 offers up to 768 GB of RAM, 24 drives, and four 1GE LAN interfaces built into the motherboard to provide outstanding levels of internal memory and storage expandability along with exceptional performance.

Config Notes
- Serial/USB/VGA port(s): provided through KVM connector console breakout cable which supplies one RS232 serial port, one VGA port and two USB ports. The system also has one internal USB port. Hard disk configuration: RAID 1.
- Kdump (SLE12SP2): the crash kernel reserved memory parameters were increased from the default to crashkernel=142M,high crashkernel=102M,low using YaST.
- Installation Kit: The lenovo_servers_thinksystem-sle12sp2-x86_64-1.0.iso installation kit is SUSE SolidDriver Program compliant. This installation kit must be downloaded and used to start the SLES installation. To obtain the installation kit go to: https://drivers.suse.com/lenovo/Lenovo-ThinkSystem/sle-12-sp2-x86_64/1.0/.
- SR-IOV: System was tested using SR-IOV where a virtual network adapter was given to a SLES 12 SP2 guest. One of the integrated Ethernet Connection X722 (Dual-Port) for 10GBASE-T adapters was used in this testing.
