Config Notes
- Install: System installed via network PXE UEFI boot; the OS was installed using the UEFI boot loader and system configuration. Tested as a 2-node scalable partition with 8 Compute Books. Hard disk configuration: RAID 1. Xen Hypervisor: the hypervisor was booted with following additional parameters: dom0_mem=10G dom0_max_vcpus=10.
- Kdump: the crash kernel reserved memory parameter must be increased from the default value for kdump to function correctly.
- VM Driver Pack: All guests were tested with PV drivers installed. The SLES drivers are included with the OS. The Windows 2012 R2 drivers are available from http://download.suse.com (VMDP-WIN-2.2.exe).
- PCI Network Pass-Through: System was tested using PCI pass-through where one of the host network adapters was given to the SLES 12 FV guest. The Broadcom BCM5720 GbE adapter was used during this testing.
- Maintenance update: SLES 12 Xen kernel update 333 is required and was installed on the host during certification testing. SLES 12 kernel update 333 was installed on the SLES 12 FV guest, the SLES 11 SP3 kernel update 10103 was installed on SLES 11 SP3 x86_64 FV guest. 64-bit guests were tested with a maximum memory configuration of 64GB.
