Product Description
Up to four Fujitsu Server PRIMERGY CX250 S2 server
nodes, each in a half-wide 1U form-factor, can be
packaged into the PRIMERGY CX400 S2 Multi-Node
server system, thus providing an aggregated
scale-out performance of a total of 8 CPUs of the
latest Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2600 v2 product
family, 64 DIMMs and up to 24 storage drives in a
condensed 2 U rack enclosure.
The CX250 S2 dual socket server node combines
high performance and attractive purchase costs
with high energy efficiency while coming without
any local fans or power supply units. Up to 16 high
bandwidth memory modules provide a memory
capacity of 1,024 GB per server node.
With PCIe Gen3 IO slots and RAID enabled access
to local storage drives, the CX250 S2 server easily
plays its role as the standard two processor
node for PRIMERGY CX400 S2, providing a great
versatility to match even ambitious server load
profiles for scale-out Cloud and HPC server farms
and as slave node in Hadoop envirnoments for Big
Data processing.

Config Notes
- Kdump: the crash kernel reserved memory parameters were changed based on the content in the following knowledge-base article: http://www.novell.com/support/kb/doc.php?id=3374462.
- Power management: The System/Processor dynamic CPU frequency scaling functionality in SLES is not supported on POWER9 with PowerVM as this functionality is provided by the POWER9 with PowerVM hardware its-self.
- Headless configuration - no graphics adapter. System configured using IBM remote Hardware Management Console (HMC) for graphics, keyboard and mouse.
- Install: The SUSE® Linux Enterprise Server install was performed using a network install method.
- Latest maintenance kernel 4.4.114-94.14-default.ppc64le is installed for basic POWER9 support from https://download.suse.com/Download?buildid=MiaxOdQDFSA~
