SUSE YES Certified for the following products:
Operating Systems:
| SUSE® LINUX Enterprise Server 10 for AMD64 & Intel64 Service Pack 4 for SUSE® SLES 10 |
Other Products:
| Novell® Open Enterprise Server 2 Support Pack 3 |
Product Description
Up to two PRIMERGY CX270 S1 server nodes, each in a in a condensed half-wide form-factor and up to 24 hot-plug storage drives can be packaged into the PRIMERGY CX400 Multi-Node system in a 2U only rack enclosure. The dual socket server node of 2U height provides ample expansion options such as support for a GPGPU (General Purpose Graphics Processing Unit) acceleration card. This unit is the optimal expansion of for hardware assisted acceleration in high performance computational, analytics and graphic processing, enabling a ten-fold performance boost in HPC applications. Moreover, each dual socket server node CX270 S1 features two top-bin CPUs out of the Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2600 family range, 16 high bandwidth memory modules for up to 512 GB RAM capacity and a total of three PCIe Gen3 I/O slots (1 reserved for GPGPU) to provide massive I/O bandwidth. Up to six local hot-plug storage drives can be assigned per node, located in the shared PRIMERGY CX400 enclosure. The CX270 S1 server nodes provide absolutely high end performance to match very ambitious server profiles and workload scenarios while doubling the server density per rack unit as compared to standard rack servers. http://docs.ts.fujitsu.com/dl.aspx?id=6c718c1b-96fb-4f19-bea9-f050aa89ffd7

Config Notes
- This is a SAN boot only system.
- Install: The SLES install was performed using a virtual DVD device.
-
Kernel update: SLES11 SP3 kernel update 9237 (3.0.101-0.29 x86-64) is required and was installed during certification testing.
- The maximum CPU cores or threads when hyper threading is enabled which can be allocated from LPAR is 64.
- The driver "htc-hfcldd" used during testing is SUSE SolidDriver Program compliant. The driver was installed from the driver update disk(DUD) "dud-htc-hfcldd-4.11.18.3130.iso" and the driver package "htc-hfcldd-kmp-default-4.11.18.3130_3.0.76_0.11-1.sles11sp3.x86_64.rpm". To obtain DUD and the driver package, access to http://www.hitachi.co.jp/products/bladesymphony/download/driver/12346444.html. DUD can be used to install SUSE Linux Enterprise Server(SLES) to the SAN storage, and driver package can be installed after the SLES installation.
- The driver "ixgbe" used during testing is SUSE SolidDriver Program compliant. The driver "ixgbe" use Intel(R) 10GbE PCI Express Family of Server Adapters and the driver package name is "ixgbe-kmp-default-3.21.2_3.0.101_0.29-h1.x86_64.rpm". This driver package can be downloaded and installed after the SLES11SP3 install. To obtain the driver go to: http://www.hitachi.co.jp/products/bladesymphony/download/driver/12346369.html
