Product Description
Oracle's Sun Fire X4270 M3 server, powered by two of the highest performing CPUs from the Intel Xeon processors family, the E5-2690, is the ideal system for clustered databases and virtualized business applications. This server uses a 2U enclosure and is available in three flexible chassis configurations, offering superior scalability with terabytes of storage and six PCIe 3.0 expansion slots. The four onboard 10 GbE ports provide ten times faster network throughput than 1 GbE ports and reduce cabling, increase data throughput and save PCIe slots for other peripherals. System performance and power efficiency are maximized with flash storage options that deliver high I/O performance and reduced energy consumption.

Config Notes

Kdump: the crash kernel reserved memory parameter was changed to 256 (crashkernel=512M-:256M) for kdump to function correctly.
System was tested with an Intel I210-T1 added as a second network adapter. The standard system configuration does not include the I210-T1 adapter.
Graphics: Video driver used in this configuration is SolidDriver-compliant and may be installed by adding http://www2.ati.com/suse/sle12 as a software repository then installing the auto-selected ati-fglrx packages. This repository and driver packages are added automatically when installing in a network environment.
Power management: Hibernation/Suspend to Disk/ACPI S4 is NOT supported on this system.
Power management: System/Processor does NOT support fan thermal scaling.
