Product Description
The IBM® System x3630 M4 server offers a cost-effective high-capacity storage solution with exceptional energy-smart design, leadership virtualization, and powerful systems management. It supports up to two Intel® Xeon® processors and high-density memory designs with twelve DDR3 DIMM slots. This 2U server consolidates storage and server into one system, offers easy management, and saves floor space and power consumption, allowing for less cost than traditional enterprise offerings. Designed with redundancy, flexible subsystems, and a wider range of configuration options, the x3630 M4 also offers an innovative Feature on Demand (FoD) design for an easier upgrade path.

Config Notes

Power management: Hibernation/Suspend to Disk/ACPI S4 is NOT supported on this system.
Power management: System/Processor does NOT support fan thermal scaling.
Graphics: Video driver used in testing was downloaded from http://www.hp.com/support/workstations. Video driver is not SolidDriver-compliant and requires installation of kernel source and development tools.
Kdump: the crash kernel reserved memory parameter was changed to 256 (crashkernel=512M-:256M) for kdump to function correctly.
System was tested with an Intel I210-T1 added as a second network adapter. The standard system configuration does not include the I210-T1 adapter.
