Product Description
The HS23E offers value for performance, with support for the new Intel® Xeon® E5-processors that processes up to 16 simultaneous threads and 1600 MHz memory. It is ideal for a variety of workloads such as business applications, virtualization, IT and web infrastructure, point of sale and smart computing.

Config Notes

Install: System installed using an external USB DVD drive; the OS was installed from DVD using the UEFI boot loader and system configuration. Disk configuration: single HDD and two M.2 (boot) drives configured as separate RAID 0.
Kdump (SLE12SP2): the crash kernel reserved memory parameters were increased from the default to crashkernel=187M,high crashkernel=142M,low using YaST.
Installation Kit: The lenovo_servers_thinksystem-sle12sp2-x86_64-1.0.iso installation kit is SUSE SolidDriver Program compliant. This installation kit must be downloaded and used to start the SLES installation. To obtain the installation kit go to: https://drivers.suse.com/lenovo/Lenovo-ThinkSystem/sle-12-sp2-x86_64/1.0/.
Serial/USB/VGA port(s): provided through KVM connector console breakout cable which supplies one RS232 serial port, one VGA port and two USB ports. The system also has one internal USB port.
