Product Description
The HS23E offers value for performance, with support for the new Intel® Xeon® E5-processor that processes up to 16 simultaneous threads and 1600 MHz memory. It is ideal for a variety of workloads such as business applications, virtualization, IT and web infrastructure, point of sale and smart computing.

Config Notes

Install: System installed via network PXE UEFI boot; the OS was installed using the UEFI boot loader and system configuration. Tested as a 1-node scalable partition with 4 Compute Books. Hard disk configuration: RAID 6. Xen Hypervisor: the hypervisor was booted with following additional parameters: dom0_mem=16G dom0_max_vcpus=10.
VM Driver Pack: All guests were tested with PV drivers installed. The SLES drivers are included with the OS. The Windows 2012 R2 drivers are available from https://download.suse.com/ (VMDP-WIN-2.3.exe).
SR-IOV: System was tested using SR-IOV where a virtual network adapter was given to a FV SLES 12 guest. One of the Emulex VFA5 ML2 10GbE SFP+ adapters was used in this testing.
Kdump: the crash kernel reserved memory parameters were increased from the default to "crashkernel=198M,high crashkernel=122M,low" using YaST.
