Product Description
The IBM SurePOS 300 4810-32x is ideal for small to medium-sized retail operations and value chain stores that want an affordable POS solution that offers a lot of flexibility for store placement and functionality. The small system unit with distributed peripherals, plus the choice of thin-client or thick-client configurations with a wide range of media options, means the IBM SurePOS 300 can be used for virtually anyway or anywhere in the store.

Config Notes
- Kdump: the crash kernel reserved memory parameters were increased from the default to "crashkernel=192M,high crashkernel=142M,low" using YaST.
- Install: System installed via network PXE UEFI boot; the OS was installed using the UEFI boot loader and system configuration. Tested as a 2-node scalable partition with 8 Compute Books. Hard disk configuration: separate RAID 0.
- VM Driver Pack: All guests were tested with PV drivers installed. The SLES drivers are included with the OS. The Windows 2012 R2 drivers are available from http://download.suse.com (VMDP-WIN-2.3.exe).
- SR-IOV: System was tested using SR-IOV where a virtual network adapter was given to one of the SLES 12 guests. One of the Intel® I350-T4 ML2 Quad Port GbE adapters was used in this testing.
- Xen Hypervisor: the hypervisor was booted with following additional parameters added to the Xen section of the /etc/default/grub file: dom0_mem=10G dom0_max_vcpus=10.
