Product Description
The ETERNUS LT40 S2 is an ultra compact LTO tape library with up to 24 media slots and up to two drives. The systems are connected via SAS or FibreChannel interface to the server. The ETERNUS LT40 S2 magnetic tape systems family is optimized for low power consumption, the use of environmentally friendly materials, as well as high and easy scalability. The ETERNUS LT40 S2 is equipped with LTO technology, which is synonymous with high capacity, high speed and very low media costs. The tape library offers a storage capacity of 72 TB (LTO5 compressed) in just two height units. The base configuration includes 12 slots. Config Notes
- This is a SAN boot only system.
- Install: The SLES install was performed using a virtual DVD device.
- The driver "htc-hfcldd" are used during testing is SUSE SolidDriver Program compliant. The driver was installed from the driver update disk(DUD) "dud-htc-hfcldd-4.12.21.4284.iso" and the driver package "htc-hfcldd-kmp-default-4.12.21.4284_4.4.21_69-1.sles12sp2.x86_64.rpm". To obtain DUD and the driver package, access to http://www.hitachi.co.jp/products/bladesymphony/download/driver/12347379.html. DUD can be used to install SUSE Linux Enterprise Server(SLES) to the SAN storage, and driver package can be installed after the SLES installation.
- The driver "ixgbe" used during testing is SUSE SolidDriver Program compliant. The driver ixgbe used for Intel(R) 10GbE PCI Express Family of Server Adapters is named "ixgbe-kmp-default-4.4.6_k4.4.21_69-h1.x86_64.rpm". This driver package can be downloaded and installed after the SLES12SP2 install. To obtain the driver go to: http://www.hitachi.co.jp/products/bladesymphony/download/driver/12347198.html.
- The maximum CPU cores or threads when hyper threading is enabled which can be allocated from LPAR is 240.
