Product Description
The IBM® BladeCenter® HX5 server is a blade server based on the fifth generation of the Enterprise X-Architecture®, delivering innovation with enhanced scalability, reliability, and availability features to enable optimal performance for databases, enterprise applications, and virtualized environments. The IBM BladeCenter HX5 supports up to two processors, including the latest generation of Intel Xeon E7-4800 processors. Two HX5 servers can be connected together for a high-performance single image with four processors and up to 512 GB of RAM in a blade form factor.

Config Notes

This is a SAN boot only system.
The Hitachi SAS 3004 iMR ROMB and local HDD (hard disk drives) are not supported on this configuration.
Install: The SLES install was performed using a virtual DVD device.
The driver "htc-hfcldd" used during testing is SUSE SolidDriver Program compliant. The driver was installed from the driver update disk (DUD) "dud-htc-hfcldd-4.12.21.4310.iso" and the driver package htc-hfcldd-kmp-default-4.12.21.4310_4.4.73_7-1.sles12sp3.x86_64.rpm. To obtain DUD and the driver package, go to http://www.hitachi.co.jp/products/bladesymphony/download/driver/12347564.html. DUD can be used to install SUSE Linux Enterprise Server(SLES) to the SAN storage, and driver package can be installed after the SLES installation.
The driver "ixgbe" used during testing is SUSE SolidDriver Program compliant. The driver ixgbe used for Intel(R) 10GbE PCI Express Family of Server Adapters is named "ixgbe-kmp-default-5.3.5_k4.4.73_5-h1.x86_64.rpm".
