Product Description
PRIMERGY TX140 S1: the expandable SME all- rounder. It is ideal for SME or branch customers looking for a classic file, print, mail, or database server, with high scalability and record-setting performance per watt. As the company evolves, so too does the TX140 S1. Storing up to 8TB of data, the TX140 S1 can easily handle large files. At a later stage, the TX140 S1 can be included in a rack cabinet with dedicated storage systems. From here, customers can fully take advantage of the extensive connectivity options, Intel® Xeon® E3 performance, and high serviceability via the optional front service LAN port. Config Notes

PCI Network Pass-Through: System was tested using PCI pass-through where the network adapter was given to the SLES 11 SP3 x86-64 guest. An added network adapter, Intel PRO/1000 PT Server Adapter (82572EI GB Ethernet Controller), was used in this testing - this adapter was using the standard SP3 e1000e driver.
Install: System installed using the internal DVD drive; the OS was installed from DVD using the UEFI boot loader and system configuration.
Hard Disk Configuration: RAID 5.
VM Driver Pack: All FV guests were tested with PV drivers installed. The SLES 11 SP3 drivers are included with the OS. The Windows 2012 drivers are available from http://download.novell.com (VMDP-WIN-2.1.exe), and the virtio network drivers were used during testing.
Xen Hypervisor: the hypervisor was booted with following additional parameters: dom0_mem=5G dom0_max_vcpus=4.
